Benefiting the officers…
Being a part of the armed forces is a tough job. There is no guarantee when duty will call and take you to the war front. I don’t say that there is no stability but uncertainty does prevail.
While as an officer you are asked to live in the quarters or accommodation provided by the military or air force. You have to travel according to the requirements of your job. Therefore, your family travels too. Although after a while one does get accustomed to moving about the county, one does aspire to own a property or a home.
The US department of Veterans Affairs grants the officers- who are serving, reservists or retired officers a veteran’s benefit. Veterans benefit grants many perks like free education, medical help and so on. But you still continue to live in the house provided by the government. But once you decide that you want to invest in a property or a permanent home, you can apply for a VA home loan. These loans are provided at very low mortgage rates. Also it will ensure that you don’t have to shelve out a single penny. All the expenses for the house will be taken care off either by the lender or the seller of the house or property. It will ensure 100 percent down payment and no regular monthly payments have to be made.
These loans for VA homes can be applied for by family members of the officers too. Like the wife of a slain officer. But if she plans to remarry then the loan is not applicable. These loans are generally provided for places which have little or no means of funding.
